Crime OR Punishment

This story is set in the historically accurate backdrop of a small town in northern Minnesota in the 1920s.
Seventeen-year-old cheerleader Mary Kay McNeal develops a romantic relationship with a mixed-race high school quarterback. Her bigoted and sometimes violent father does all he can to come between them.
Thus ensues a story of teenage angst and conflict that spreads beyond the girl and her father, entangling the rest of the family, friends, and neighbors.
A crime is committed with evidence implicating the quarterback. The justice system is challenged to solve the crime in a just and honorable way. This is a "who-done-it?" story that keeps the reader on edge throughout.
