Scout Scream

Scout Scream, was inspired by Benson’s personal experiences as a Boy Scout in Minnesota in the 1950s. Although readers of his first book, Swan Scream, may recognize some of the characters, Scout Scream is not a sequel and stands on its own.
Set in Grand Rapids, Minnesota in the early 1900’s the story introduces us to Bridget Shaunessy, a well-endowed waitress, and Thomas Boucher, a tall, muscular lumberjack. The young couple date, marry, and face some unexpected challenges due to his unfounded jealousy and associated outbursts.
A crime ensues which goes undiscovered for months. Once discovered, there are many leads, but law enforcement remains stymied until a peculiar piece of evidence is discovered. The new evidence, along with critical testimony from a key witness leads to what some might consider justice served.
